If you think that being nationalistic
can only be shows in rallies and following
the laws and rules of the country, you better check what year are you
in! Nationalistic can be in your shirt now!
Fashion designer Jefferey Rogador
change the usual design of nationalism from baro’t saya or the old fashion
trend. Jefferey showed his interest in design at the early age of 13. He
graduated with a degree in fine arts from the one of the top university of the
country, University of Sto. Tomas. He
then pursue his interest by taking up fashion design at the Fashion Institute
of the Philippines.
He started the JNPY 306 which is
inspired by the jeepney --- to bring pride to our national iconic mode of transportation
and said that being a Filipino is not complete if you haven't ride a jeepney.
He utilized and stylize the popular metro manila destinations and even famous
streets nameas and incorporate them into his fashionable urban designs.
Jefferey introduce this in his online shop and to present his designs, he
presented 10- piece JNPY 306 mens wear collection during the last Philippines
Fashion Week. There he receive rare views and even been voted as one os the top
10 collections by the top magazines such as Mega, Metro and Preview.
Due to all the positive feedbacks,
they roollsout it’s initial 20 collection for Men and Women. Its formal lauch
was on his site, Jeffereyrogador.com
The designs of tops, jackets, pants
and skirts are with vandal graffiti prints of jeepneys. They are printed with
places on jeepney’s signboards like Quipo, Divisoria, Ayala, Edsa, Pateros,
Cubao and Taft. These all comes in black and
white and variations of red, blue and yellow. Juxtaposed on solid colors
are dramatic, fun anad stylishly chic.
The JNPY306 dsigns are easy tto wear,
mix and match and give the whole line a fresh, moderna nd relevent look. And
because of the massive appeal of the internet and growing business of online
shopping, they decided to sell it there. Thier prices are a little higher than
the retail shops but still lower than designer/ brand products.
